About Us
As three friends who have known each other for over 20 years, Jan Glas (Belgium), Victor Iancu (Romania) and Gijsbert Huijink (Netherlands) thought it would be fun to develop a few megawatts worth of solar energy in Romania. So in 2022 we combined forces to create SOL renewables. Two years down the line and we have already sold our first batch of smaller projects to an international investor and have another 1 GW under development with land secured.
Sol Omnibus Lucet is our motto, meaning ‘the sun shines for everybody’. We strive to develop projects to the benefit of all involved: land owners, local communities, investors and the environment.
Projects
We have many different projects in our pipeline starting from 1 MWp. Our total portfolio amounts to about 1 GW of solar and BESS projects.

Our Team
We are a ‘lean and mean’ development team. Apart from the three founders, Adrian Munteanu joined in 2023 as a ‘jack of all trades’ project manager. Ileana Uta is taking care of finance and administration. And in early 2024 Ioana Dinu joined and took charge of legal aspects.
Jan Glas
A consultant with more than 25 years of experience in business consultancy for CEE region as Founding Partner of TPA Romania.

Gijsbert Huijink
An entrepreneur with over 25 years of experience in the Romanian business sector and a strong background in renewable energy. Gijsbert is co-founder of Som Energia, Spain's largest renewable energy co-operative.
Adrian Munteanu
With a background in the energy supply business and energy community development, Adrian joined the company in August 2023 to further develop the renewable energy projects SOL has in its portfolio.
Ianula Badulescu
Ianula joined us in 2024 in order to offer support in structuring our virtual data rooms and managing back-office activities.
Victor Iancu
An entrepreneur with more than 15 years experience in retail, real estate, oil & gas and renewable energy.

Ioana Dinu
Ioana has over 10 years of legal experience in the fields of private equity and M&A. She joined us in January 2024 with the aim to set up her own renewable energy investment fund in the near future.​
Ileana Uță
As our CFO, Ileana has invaluable expertise in accounting and finance in the energy sector, manufacturing and the service sector.
